Ernie Sandy

Ernie Sandy is a fluent speaker in his Ojibway language and knew how to speak Ojibway before he learned English.  He is a strong advocate in the revitalization and retention of indigenous languages.  Ernie is an educator with a background of teaching at the college and university level.  Currently, Ernie teaches at Glendon College, York University in a course entitled A Language Endangerment: A Case for Anishnaabemwin.  He recently also taught Native Philosophy at Nipissing University.  He is very knowledgeable about the history of the Ojibway language, law, customs and traditions.
